cornrows 2

I tried again.  This time I sat Francine on a chair rather than my lap.  She squirmed less, maybe.  Instead of thinking I’d try to cornrow her whole head of hair I decided to shoot a bit lower.  I did an offset part and a big cornrow down each side from the part to the ear, making a headband.  It’s possible that a person might guess they’re meant to be cornrows.  I consider it a success.  I’ll owe Francine and apology later when she sees photos and I’ll have to take them out before we leave the box, but a big day none the less!

Still waiting for good news that we’re soon to be heading home, or at least finally stating the final process.  It’s not that the box is bad in any way (but it will be so nice to not do laundry in a sink and have more options for meals than pasta or bread with peanut butter! …. and fruit and veggies, I so miss you!  I could go on and on, but I won’t).  I’m comfortable enough here that I often almost brush my teeth with tap water.  Ick.  It’s that I’m ready to start life with these girls at home, where their toys are and where their family is.  Where we can play in the park, where we can play outside in our very own yard, ride bikes and go to the grocery store, where the girls can sleep in their beds!  Where we can take a walk.  Where they can finally begin to get a sense of what home is.  One day closer……

Ashley we all miss you and look forward to when you and the girls are home. I’m thinking a celebration upon your arrival. I love Francine’s hair and you are becoming a real pro. Your Dad came by for a beer last night and he is so anxious for you all to be home soon. He is such the proud Grandpa. We think about you every day and enjoy your daily blogs. Love you! xoxo Rosie, Rob, Sophie and Goose.
